Lifetime Installation Warranty

For as long as your floor is in your home, we'll come back and fix anything that went wrong with how we installed it — at no charge for labor.

Last updated: April 23, 2026

These are standard terms meant to be clear and fair. We're not asking you to sign anything — if you have questions, call us.

What this warranty is

When At Home Flooring installs your floor, our work is warrantied for the life of that floor in that home. If something fails because of how we installed it, we come back and fix it. Labor is free. If materials are needed, we sort that out case by case — most of the time it's covered, and if it's not we'll tell you straight up why.

No forms to mail in. No five-page fine print. You have the invoice, you have the warranty.

What's covered

If we did it wrong or it failed because of the install, this is on us:

  • Seams coming apart on carpet or LVP
  • Wrinkles, buckling, or loose spots caused by improper stretching or adhesion
  • Transition strips pulling up, lifting, or coming loose
  • Stair carpet pulling loose from risers or nosing
  • LVP click-lock separation where planks shouldn't have come apart
  • Hardwood squeaks from install (loose nails, missed spots)
  • Nail or staple pops from improperly driven fasteners
  • Any other failure that can be traced back to our workmanship

What's NOT covered

We wish we could cover everything, but some things just aren't install-related:

  • Manufacturer defects — fading, delamination, construction problems with the flooring itself. Those go through the product warranty (15-year to lifetime depending on brand — DreamWeaver, Shaw, Mohawk, Engineered Floors, GreenTouch, Turku). We'll help you file the claim.
  • Water damage — floods, burst pipes, dishwasher leaks, overflowing toilets
  • Pet damage — stains, scratches, chew marks
  • Sun fading or discoloration from UV exposure
  • Normal wear patterns in high-traffic areas over years
  • Damage from moving furniture after install day (drag a refrigerator across LVP without protection and you'll see what we mean)
  • Subfloor issues that weren't visible at install — if we couldn't see it, we couldn't price it. We'll still come look and help you figure out next steps, but a subfloor rebuild isn't a warranty claim.
  • Damage from other trades working in your home after we're done

How to file a claim

  1. Call us at (630) 584-5812 or email support@athomeflooring.com
  2. Tell us what's happening — a photo or two helps
  3. We'll schedule a visit, usually within 2 weeks
  4. We take a look, fix what's ours to fix, and leave you with a floor that works

That's it. No claim number, no ticket system, no phone tree. You call Paul or the office, and someone comes out.

If you sell your home

The warranty transfers with the floor. If you sell the house, the new owner gets the same coverage we gave you. All they need is a copy of the original invoice showing we did the install. Hand it over at closing or leave it in the kitchen drawer — either works.

What we promise

We've been installing floors since 2014. In that time we've learned that most warranty problems aren't really about the floor — they're about whether the company stands behind the work when something goes wrong.

So here's what you get from us:

  • We answer the phone. The At Home Flooring team picks up or calls you back the same day.
  • We tell you the truth. If it's our fault, we fix it. If it's not, we explain why and help you find the right path.
  • We're patient. Flooring issues can be frustrating, especially months after install. We get it. We'll work through it with you.

That's the warranty. Simple, honest, and backed by people who actually answer the phone.
